Opnieuw leren lopen met hulpmiddelen is voornamelijk bedoeld voor studenten in de kinesitherapie. Het gaat hierbij vooral om de gangrevalidatie zoals deze toegepast wordt in de traumatologie en de orthopedie. Na een kort overzicht van een preambulant programma, wordt het aanbod van verschillende loophulpmiddelen en de instelling ervan besproken. Nadien wordt in detail ingegaan op een aantal strategieën die aan bod komen in de gangrevalidatie: het komen van zit tot stand en omgekeerd, het inoefenen van de aanbevolen belasting van de onderste ledematen en diverse looppatronen, inclusief het traplopen. Ook een adequate assistentie vanwege de hulpverlener wordt besproken. Tot slot komen ook de recente inzichten over energieverbruik bij het lopen met hulpmiddelen aan bod, alsook de biomechanische aspecten ervan.
